Starting to see the payoff of sticking thru some of the wonky parts. 250 pages into novel, it becomes a hot Garpish read. Love the names: Rick Vigorous from the publishing house, Frequent & Vigorous, Stonecipher Beadman, The Antichrist, Wang-Dang Lang. Story within a story about a girl who had a toad living inside her neck. An escaped granny on the lam from her old aged home...Funny, but I wonder if it's all too much over-the-top.
The thing is, it comes together through a coincidental meeting years after we meet the main characters. Does that make it too contrived?
