More on Broom of the System

Something else about David Foster Wallace I like: He does this thing with punctuation to indicate a non-verbal response within a conversation, like a shrug, a look or a nod.

This is it:

Four dots and quotation marks. Brilliant. It's more reflective of a true conversation where not every line gets a verbal response. Furthermore, I also found myself visualizing the conversation and getting a much more complete story experience.

The most elegant contribution in modern times to literature that I can think of. All I can say is,

"...."
