Writing a novel on a blog

Have been thinking about writing a novel on a blog. Might be a good way to get immediate feedback and build an audience, (albeit probably a very modest one). Could be a good marketing tactic also. Of course, there's also something extremely discomforting about this idea, still, it is worth considering.
